Spiralling into Spring Afghan– Free Crochet Pattern

Source - Lionbrand.com

SKILL LEVEL:  Intermediate (Level 3)

SIZE: One Size

About 51 x 51 in. (129.5 x 129.5 cm)

Lion Brand® Homespun®

GAUGE:

8 dc = 4 in. (10 cm).

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Making a Gauge Swatch

NOTES:

1. Afghan is worked in 4 concentric spirals beg at center. Each spiral is worked in a different color. Do not turn at the end of rnds.
2. Each rnd is worked in 4 colors. The last loop of the previous color is placed on a holder or a removable stitch marker while stitches of the next color are worked.
3. To create the spirals after the first rnd, A sts are worked only into the B sts of the previous rnd, B sts are worked only into the C sts, C sts are worked only into the D sts, and D sts are worked only into the A sts of the previous rnd.
