Hand Dyed Single Strand Sock Blanks

This isn't yarn it's fibre art. Single strand hand dyed sock blank.

So what's a sock blank? This one is a single strand of sock yarn (fingering weight, 75/25 merino/nylon blend) knit into a flat piece. This creates a fun way to dye the yarn, but it also creates a variegated, tonal or speckled effect when knit. In order to knit from a sock blank, just begin to unravel the end and start knitting--no need to wind into a ball or cake! The yarn will be a bit kinky while knitting, but will block out.
