Matrioshka Russian Dolls Fair Isle Hand Knitted Beanie Hat Colorful

Here is a fabulous hand knitted hat beanie featuring matrioshka or Russian dolls. I have designed the pattern. The hat is made of pure wool all hand dyed by me. I have made the hat based on traditional fair isle beanies and caps.

A total one off original.

The hat measures 9 3/4" deep and 19.5" wide but has stretch and give in in.

Here is a truly unique OOAK crochet afghan blanket. I made this using indie dyed and sock yarns and it is made from lots of different colours of 4 ply sock weight yarn. Because the yarn is so fine and the crochet stitch so small it has superb drape. Although lightweight it is really warm and cosy due to the use of wool.

Hand Dyed Single Strand Sock Blanks

This isn't yarn it's fibre art. Single strand hand dyed sock blank.

So what's a sock blank? This one is a single strand of sock yarn (fingering weight, 75/25 merino/nylon blend) knit into a flat piece. This creates a fun way to dye the yarn, but it also creates a variegated, tonal or speckled effect when knit. In order to knit from a sock blank, just begin to unravel the end and start knitting--no need to wind into a ball or cake! The yarn will be a bit kinky while knitting, but will block out.
